July 2, 2022 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
La Crosse Loggers News Release

The La Crosse Loggers were defeated in a close contest against their Great Plains East rival, the Duluth Huskies, who now slide into first place in the division.

Starting for the Loggers and making his Northwoods League debut was Garrett Rennie (San Diego). The southpaw tossed 3.0 labor intensive innings, surrendering 3 runs on 78 pitches. Five Loggers' pitchers appeared in relief, each having mixed results.

The Huskies' offensive produced runs in six out of the nine frames, doing so with a well-balanced attack. Every player in the lineup, expect one, had at least one hit. Kristian Campbell (Georgia Tech) continued his season long tear against the Lumberman, going 2-5 with a homer and 3 RBIs. The catcher, Eduardo Rosario (Nebraska-Omaha), also contributed by going 3-5 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Devin Dodson (Friends University) took the mound for Duluth, posting his worst start of the season. The 6'4 right-hander only chalked up 3.0 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits and 1 strikeout. The Huskies' bullpen picked him up, with Nolan Lebamoff (Valparaiso) pitching 3.0 strong innings and Jake Christianson (Feather River College) earned a 3.0 inning save. Christianson struck out the side to end the ball game and lowered his ERA to 1.23 on the season.

Offensively for the Loggers, Jordan Donahue (Hawaii) had a breakout performance. The versatile infielder notched 3 hits and drove in a run. Blaise Priester (Meridian CC) also played well, hitting his team-leading 5th long ball of the season during the 5th inning, while also having a solid performance behind the dish.

Both teams will return to Copeland Park tonight to conclude the 2-game series. After the game, a "Laser Light Show" will take place, presented by TORO. The first pitch is set for 6:35pm CT on the north side of La Crosse.
