La Crosse Loggers News Release
ROCHESTER, MN:ÃÂ After La Crosse vanquished their longest losing streak in over a decade, the Loggers look to win consecutive games for the first time since June 15th-17th. Unfortunately, things would not roll the way of the Loggers on Saturday night as they fell to Rochester 9-3.
Cole Colleran (San Diego) got his fourth start of the summer for La Crosse on Saturday. He was looking to rebound from his prior two starts in where he lost both of them. Due to some poor La Crosse defense in the 1st inning that allowed two unearned runs to come in and score, Colleran's night would only last 3 innings. The left hander allowed 4 runs (2 earned), 5 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts.
The Loggers turned it over to the bullpen for the rest of the night. Eli Campbell (Bradley) and Josh Hahn (UCLA) both chipped in with two innings of one run ball. Cameron Crain (Johnson County) came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th and allowed 3 more runs to score.
The Honkers got a great start from their ace in Braden Knoll (Minnesota of Mankato). Knoll allowed just 1 run over 5 innings pitched in his final start of the summer for Rochester.
Rochester tied a season high in extra-base hits on Saturday night with 6. Most notably from Mac Horvath (UNC) who was named NWL player of the night for his 4-5 performance with two solo home runs. That power production for the Honkers was more than enough to lead them to their 14th win of the summer.
La Crosse has now lost 9 of their last 10 games and their last 7 on the road. The Loggers will travel to Waterloo to face the Bucks on the road for the first time this summer.
A July 4th evening of baseball will begin at 6:35 first pitch.
