Kyler Stancato Shines in Raptors Game 2 Loss

June 14, 2025 - Pioneer League (PL)
Ogden Raptors News Release

After a Game 1 battle that came down to the final out, the Raptors bats came out firing Saturday night - plating three runs off Luke Short in the opening frame.

However, Oakland responded in record-setting fashion, posting a staggering 15-run second inning to put the game out of reach before it had a chance to unfold.

The Raptors starter Miguel Hernandez and the bullpen struggled to work through traffic all evening. Despite solid offensive efforts from Chris Sargent and Kyler Stancato, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

One of the few bright spots came from Stancato, who not only went 2-for-5 with an RBI but also played six strong innings in right field before being called upon to eat up innings on the mound. The first-year Raptor delivered three scoreless innings in relief, striking out two and walking one - all before he even got the chance to put on a show in Ogden's first Home Run Derby of the year!

Stancato crushed six homers in two minutes during his round, showing off the all-around impact he brings to the roster and coming up just shy of a round tying buzzerbeater home run.

Ogden will look to bounce back and close the series on a high note in Sunday's Game 3 finale before hitting the road to face the Pioneer Baseball League-leading Idaho Falls Chukars.

Dont forget, tomorrow is Sunday Fun Day at Lindquist Field - show your ticket stub and enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, bratwursts, grilled chicken, popcorn, and ice cream. First pitch is set for 1 PM, and you're not going to want to miss it!
