Boise, ID - Idaho Steelheads forward Kyle Jean has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 14-20.

Jean scored two goals and added seven assists for nine points in three games last week.

The 25-year-old recorded four points (2g-2a) in an 8-5 win against Utah on?Wednesday, had three assists in a 6-3 victory over Allen on Friday, and added a pair of assists in a 3-2 shootout loss to Allen on Saturday.

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Jean has 11 points (3g-8a) in 10 games with the Steelheads this season. Jean is currently in the midst of a five game points streak, and had multi-point performances in each of his last three games.

Jean signed an ECHL contract with the Steelheads on November 30th after spending the early part of the season in Sweden with Asploven HC, where he had seven points (2g-5a) in 19 games. Jean has 65 points (22g-43a) in 84 career ECHL games with Idaho and Greenville, and he has added 29 points (11g-18a) in 126 career American?Hockey League games with Connecticut, Hartford, Lake Erie and Charlotte.

On behalf of Kyle Jean, a case of pucks will be donated to an Idaho youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood?Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
