URBANDALE, Iowa - Des Moines Buccaneers forward Lubomir Kupco has committed to play NCAA Division I men's hockey at St. Cloud State University.

Kupco, a native of Kosice, Slovakia, is in his second season with the Buccaneers. The 5'11, 179-pound 2003-born forward has 4 goals and 2 assists in 7 games played this season. Kupco also put up 6 goals and 17 points in 27 games last year.

"The opportunity that Lubo has earned to continue his education and playing career at St. Cloud State University is a great example of what our league and organization are all about," said Buccaneers head coach Matt Curley. "I am thrilled for Lubomir and his entire family and proud of his commitment to a first class program at SCSU!"

Kupco's commitment is the third for the Buccaneers organization in the last week, joining Henry Bartle (Michigan Tech) and Alex Pineau (Brown) in making their college choices.

The Buccaneers are on the road for a two-game series this weekend at Tri-City and will return home to Des Moines to face the Lincoln Stars on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. for the team's Black Friday game with Blackout jerseys & postgame jersey auction.
