Alex Bump Selected to 2022 Junior Selects Team

OMAHA, NE. - The Omaha Lancers and the United States Hockey League are proud to announce the Alex Bump has been selected for the 2022 U.S. Junior Selects Team to take part in the 2022 Junior A Challenge from December 11th-18th of this year in Cornwall, Ontario.

While representing Team USA, Bump will be going up against some of the best players in his age group from Canada East & West, Czechia, Latvia and Sweden.

Since the first Junior A Challenge in 2006, Team USA has picked up the most championships with eight (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 & 2018). With the return of the tournament after being away for two seasons due to COVID-19, Team USA is anticipated to make a strong return.

Bump, of Prior Lake, Minnesota currently holds the top point-getting spot for the Omaha Lancers with 12 (4G-8A-12P) through 15 games played. Including two multi-point nights in the past four matchups.

Back in the 2021-22 season, Bump notched 17 points (11G-6A-17P) in 27 regular season games played along with 3 playoff points (2G-1A-3P) in four post season games.

The low amount of regular season games played in the 2021-22 season was due to Bump returning home to Prior Lake High School in Minnesota to Captain his high school hockey team, the Prior Lake Lakers.

Within the 31 games played with the Lakers, Bump tallied an impressive 83 points in 31 games (48G-35A-83) averaging 2.68 points per game as he led his squad to the Minnesota State Semi-Finals.
