Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho (March 29, 2008) - Kevin Kruger poured in a season-high 43 points to lead the Utah Flash to a 109-106 victory over the Idaho Stampede Saturday night in Boise.

Kruger converted 15 of 20 from the floor and 10 of 13 from beyond the three-point arch. His last three - pointer came with eight seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to put the Flash in the lead 108-106. Stampede guard Mike Taylor was unable to convert on a driving lay-up on the ensuing possession that would've tied the game.

"The game is about putting the ball in the basket," Stampede Head Coach Bryan Gates said. "You have to tip your hat to Kruger for hitting big shots in this game tonight."

Both teams shot the ball very well from the field. The Stampede shot 51% (39 of 76) from the field, while the Flash went 52% (11 of 21) behind the three-point line. There were a total of 33 lead changes, eight of which came in the final five minutes of the game.

Utah benefited from having five players score in double figures. Brian Hamilton scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Gabe Pruitt, on an NBA assignment from the Boston Celtics, added 13 points, and James Lang pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and scored nine points.

Randy Livingston led the Stampede with 26 points, making 9 of 16 from the field and dishing out 6 assists. Mike Taylor came off the bench to score 18 points, followed by Roberto Bergersen and Luke Jackson with 15 points apiece. Cory Violette added 12 points and nine rebounds, in the loss.

Idaho will travel to Los Angeles to take on the D-Fenders on Wednesday. Utah will travel to Anaheim to go up against the Arsenal on Friday night.
