
Komets to Complete 5-Game Road Tour Friday at Quad City

Fort Wayne, IN | Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 --- The Komets will complete a five-game road tour with an 8:05pm ET faceoff at Quad City Friday. Saturday the Komets return home after a two-week absence to face the Dayton Gems at 7:30pm on Coliseum ice.
Friday, Dec. 17, Fort Wayne Komets (5-13-1) at Quad City Mallards (11-11-0), 8:05pm ET The Komets will travel back to Moline, Illinois to face the Mallards at 8:05pm ET Friday. It will be the fifth of 10 meetings during 2010-11 between the two Turner Conference rivals and the third of four at the i wireless Center where the Komets are winless after two games. Quad City is 3-2-0 in their last five outings and is idle this week until they host Fort Wayne Friday.
Saturday, Dec. 18, Dayton Gems (11-9-1) at Fort Wayne Komets, 7:30pm ET The Komets return Saturday to face the Dayton Gems at 7:30pm. It will begin a stretch of five out of seven Fort Wayne games at home thru New Year's Eve. The Komets will be looking to solve Dayton for the first time this season. Fort Wayne is 0-3-0 against the Gems after the first three games of a 14-game season series. Dayton is idle this week until they skate at Bloomington Friday before visiting Fort Wayne Saturday.
Home for the Holidays -- Tis the season for Komet Holiday Hockey and the Komets will be home to celebrate the festivities for five games through New Year's Eve. After this Saturday, the Komets will host Dayton Wednesday, Dec. 22 before a three-day break for Christmas. The Komets will host Dayton Monday, Dec. 27, welcome the Mississippi RiverKings Wednesday, Dec. 29 and bring in the New Year with Quad City Friday, Dec. 31 at 8pm.
Last week in review -- The Komets suffered three straight losses and are riding a five-game winless skid going into this week's action. Friday the Komets dropped a 5-1 decision in their only appearance of the year at Wichita. Saturday the Komets were turned back 4-1 at Missouri in the last of two visits to the Independence Events Center. The Komets finished the weekend with a 6-3 setback at Quad City Sunday. The Mallards evened the season series at 2-2-0 with six meetings remaining.
Two-pointers -- center Neil Musselwhite registered his first two-point career game with a goal and an assist Sunday at Quad City. Defenseman Frankie DeAngelis posted his third two-point game of the season scoring a goal and adding an assist and enters week 10 of the campaign leading the Komets with 11 assists and 16 points after 19 games.
Thomas dishes #200 -- center Leo Thomas dished his 200th assist as a pro on P.C. Drouin's power play tally Sunday at Quad City.
Dupuis hits 900 -- Guy "Mr. Komet II" Dupuis skated his 900th Fort Wayne career regular season game Sunday at Quad City. The veteran defenseman has the distinction of owning Fort Wayne's record for most games played as a Komet with 900 regular season games and 987 all-time games including playoffs. Dupuis has held the record for most Fort Wayne career games for a player since he broke Eddie "Mr. Komet" Long's 43-year old record of 866 all-time games with number 867 April 8, 2009 vs. Bloomington. Dupuis, 40, is skating his 21st pro season, and 14th as a member of the Fort Wayne Komets.
Lardner can reach 400 CHL games Saturday -- winger Tab Lardner has skated 398 CHL career games (regular season) and can reach his 400th this Saturday when the Komets host Dayton.
Komets at Frontier Fios -- Tuesday, Dec. 14, fans can meet Komet players Leo Thomas, Kaleigh Schrock and Kevin Reiter along with Komet mascot Icy the Eagle at the Coldwater Road Frontier Fios store in the Jo Ann Fabrics Shopping Center from 5pm-7pm.
Komet Rally Towels Saturday -- This Saturday night when the Komets host Dayton at 7:30pm be one of the first of 2,500 fans to enter the Coliseum and receive a Komet Rally Towel, courtesy of Three Rivers Federal Credit Union. Get your tickets early.....doors open at 6:30pm!
