Americans Announce 2010-11 Television Schedule

ALLEN, Texas- The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today that Time Warner Cable's Texas Channel will broadcast select Allen Americans games during 2010-11. The Texas Channel is available on channel 185 in Dallas/Fort Worth, 24 in El Paso, 100 in Corpus Christi, and 888 in Austin, Laredo, San Antonio, Waco, and the Rio Grande Valley. All in all, the channel is available in over 1 million households throughout the state.
Beginning with a weekend series December 17th and 18th, the Americans will have a total of 9 games televised, with 6 of those being home games at the Allen Event Center.
After the December dates, the club will have four televised games in February, and three in March.
Americans President Matt Canavan weighed in on the deal, saying that the partnership will benefit all involved with the team.
We are thrilled to announce our partnership has been extended with Time Warner Cable for the 2010-11 season," Canavan said. "We have identified some great games for broadcast this season, and our fans and partners are very excited."
Gary Underwood, North Texas vice president of communications for Time Warner Cable, said that the ability to broadcast Americans games serves as great entertainment to more than just North Texas.
"Providing quality local programming of interest to our customers across Texas is the mission of Texas Channel," Underwood said. "We're excited about the addition of the Central Hockey League series, and look forward to seeing the Allen Americans skate on Texas Channel this season."
The first broadcast comes at a perfect time, as the 17th will feature the North Texas Vintage Hockey Series. For the throwback affair, the Americans will be wearing uniforms of the Dallas Freeze, and the Texas Brahmas will be sporting Fort Worth Fire sweaters.
Games at the Allen Event Center will be broadcast live. Games at NYTEX will be shown via tape delay.
