Komet's St. Pierre UHL Goalie of the Month

Fort Wayne, IN --- The United Hockey League announced today that Komet goaltender Kevin St. Pierre has been named UHL Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month for the month of March. It's the veteran netminder's second monthly honor this season. St. Pierre was also the goalie of the month for December. It's St. Pierre's 4th monthly award of his Komet career. St. Pierre received the monthly award twice during the 2003-04 season for performances in November, 2003, and January, 2004.

During the month of March St. Pierre posted a 9-4-0 record in 13 games allowing 23 goals on 317 shots for a 1.85 goals-against average and .927 save percentage. St. Pierre also registered 3 shutouts during the month to extend his record career shutouts to 30. St. Pierre has had 6 shutouts to date this season and is the all-time UHL career shutout leader with 21 and the all-time Fort Wayne career shutout leader with 18.

St. Pierre also dished an assist on the game winning goal in the Komet's 4-0 win over the visiting Flint Generals March 10.

This season, St. Pierre also received the UHL Goaltender of the Week Award for the period ending Jan. 22, 2006.

2005-06 is St. Pierre's 11th pro season, 3rd with Fort Wayne and 5th in the UHL. Currently the Sherbrooke, Quebec native leads UHL goalies with a .922 save percentage and ranks second with a 2.25 goals-against average after 51 games (31-16-2).
