Danbury's Shawn Collymore named Easton UHL Rookie of the Month

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Danbury Trashers center Shawn Collymore has been named Easton UHL Rookie of the Month for March.

Collymore finished the month with 19 points (9g, 10a) and plus-19 rating in 11 games played. He had seven multi-point games during the month and netted the game-winning goal in the 5-1 victory vs. Roanoke Valley on March 17th. He had an even or better plus/minus rating in all 11 games and currently ranks fifth in the UHL this season with a plus-40 rating. The 22-year-old native of LaSalle, Quebec has registered 41 points (20g, 21a) in 55 games for the Trashers. Collymore was also earned UHL Player of Week honors for the third week of March.

Other players nominated for the Easton UHL Rookie of the Month include: Adirondack center Mark Hurtubise, Elmira left wing Jarrett Konkle, Flint forward L.P. Martin, Fort Wayne right wing David Carpentier, Kalamazoo center Jason Deitsch, Missouri defenseman Steve Makway, Motor City forward Peter Szabo, Muskegon left wing Ryan Keller, Port Huron forward Ryan Markham, Quad City forward Matt Radoslovich, Richmond goaltender Mike D'Alessandro, Roanoke left wing Mike Wiggins, and Rockford center Steve Yetman.

The 2005-06 season is the first year that the Easton UHL Rookie of the Month is being awarded. It recognizes the performance of players who have played in 60 or fewer professional games and goaltenders who have played 3,600 or fewer professional minutes prior to this season.
