DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL), struggled in their final two games of the week with back-to-back losses against the Adirondack Frostbite. What was once a 10-point division lead has dwindled down to just a six point advantage for the Trashers as they head into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Danbury will host their regular season home finale on Sunday night against the Adirondack Frostbite at 7pm in a battle of the top teams in the UHL East Division. Tickets are available at DanburyTrashers.com or by calling 866-565-PUCK.

TRASHERS DROP SECOND STRAIGHT TO ADIRONDACK IN 3-1 DEFEAT

DANBURY, CT--A change of scenery wasn't enough to jolt the Trashers back into the win column as they followed Saturday's defeat in Glens Falls with a 3-1 loss on Sunday at a sold-out Danbury Ice Arena, despite outshooting the Frostbite 35-28.
The Trashers opened the scoring as Troy Smith netted his 5th of the season and second in two games as he knuckled a low shot past Kris Tebbs at the 13:09 mark from JM Daoust and Regan Kelly. The Trashers took a 1-0 lead following the first period. Adirondack generated most of their offense in a two-minute span of the second period, as Hugo Belanger's power play goal at 7:32 was followed by Ryan Bennett's 21st of the season at 7:37. Greg Koehler added an empty net goal at the 19:08 mark of the final period.
Sly Daigle stopped 25 of 27 shots in the loss while Kris Tebbs saved 34 of 35 in the win, which puts the Frostbite six points behind Danbury in the UHL East Division.
HYMOVITZ SCORES A PAIR, BUT FROSTBITE WIN 4-2 TO END DANBURY WIN STREAK

GLENS FALLS, NY--Hugo Belanger scored the last two and most important goals of the game for the Adirondack Frostbite, serving as the game-winner and the goal that ended Danbury's hopes of tying the score on the road as the Adirondack Frostbite defeated the Trashers 4-2 on Saturday night at the GFCC.
The Frostbite opened quickly with David Moccia's 4th of the season at the 2:19 mark, while Hymovitz's first tied the score at the 6:51 mark. Adirondack regained the lead in the final minute of the period on a goal by Greg Koehler.
Hymovitz tied the score at 2-2 at the 2:41 mark of the second, but Belanger netted a power play goal to give Adirondack a 3-2 lead at the 6:55 mark. DANNY STEWART'S THREE-POINT NIGHT LEADS WAY AS DANBURY TAMES JACKALS WITH 5-2 WIN

DANBURY, CT--Danny Stewart scored a shorthanded goal and added a pair of assists, while David Beauregard added three assists as the Trashers erupted to a 5-0 lead then sat back as Danbury defeated Elmira 5-0 on Friday night at a sold-out Danbury Ice Arena.
The Trashers needed just 2:49 to open the scoring as David Hymovitz backhanded a shot past Elmira netminder Matt Meacham to give Danbuy a 1-0 lead. JM Daoust went end to end and netted his 27th of the season at the 8:54 mark, while Stewart's shorthanded goal was tallied at the 15:30 mark to give the Trashers a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period.
Troy Smith scored the only goal of the second period just 1:23 in, while the Trashers added their 5th at the 7:55 mark of the third period as Dave MacIsaac netted his 15th of the season.
Elmira scored a pair of power play goals, as Brett Angel and Chris Chaput scored at 12:14 and 13:11. Angel's goal was scored with the Jackals on a 2-man advantage.
Jayme Platt earned his 13th win of the season with a 22 save effort, while Meacham stopped only 24 of 29 in a losing cause.
TRASHERS TIDBITS
- Danbury's back-to-back regulation losses on Sat. and Sun. were the first back-to-back regulation losses since 1/4 and 1/6 against Kalamazoo and Motor City.
- In Sunday's 3-1 loss to Adirondack, the Trashers failed to score during a 5:34 stretch of power play time, 2:26 of which was a 5-on-3 advantage.
- Danbury's 5-2 win over Elmira last Friday gave them 95 points for the season, matching last season's point total which was accrued over 80 games.
- David Hymovitz's 2-goal game last Saturday was histhird multi-goal game of the season, giving him 30+ goals for the second straight season.
- Six players averaged at least one PPG during the month of March (Drew and Mike Omicioli, Daw, Collymore, Beauregard and Daoust).
2006 PLAYOFF TICKETS & 2006-07 SEASON TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Season tickets for the 2006-07 campaign also went on sale on March 29th. Season tickets are priced at a special discount of $494 ($13/game reserved) and $570 ($15/game premium) when purchased prior to August 31st. Purchasing season tickets now also allows fans to buy the entire run of 2006 Colonial Cup Playoff games (12 total). Any portion of non-played playoff games will be used towards their balance on next year's season tickets.
