Danbury's Omicioli and Fort Wayne's St. Pierre earn monthly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Danbury Trashers center Drew Omicioli has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month and Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Kevin St. Pierre has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for March.

Omicioli completed the month with 22 points (10g, 12a) and a plus-13 rating in 11 games played. He tallied six points (3g, 3a) on March 1st in the 7-0 victory vs. Muskegon. He had four points (2g, 2a) in the 6-4 win vs. Rockford on March 11th and four points (1g, 3a) in the 5-2 win vs. Roanoke Valley on March 18th. During the month, Omicioli had five multi-point games. He netted two game-winning goals in March and is currently tied for second in the UHL with nine game-winning goals this season. The 26-year-old native of West Warwick, Rhode Island is tied for eighth in league scoring with 78 points (41g, 37a) and has a plus-29 rating in 60 games played this season.

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month include: Adirondack Frostbite right wing Ryan Bennett, Elmira center Konstantin Kalmikov, Flint right wing Mike Kinnie, Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk, Kalamazoo right wing Tyler Willis, Missouri left wing Jim Duhart, Motor City center Brent Gretzky, Muskegon left wing Ryan Keller, Port Huron forward Steve Dix, Quad City right wing Chad Woollard, Richmond center Joey Bastien, Roanoke left wing Mike Wiggins, and Rockford center Olivier Proulx.

St. Pierre finished the month with a 9-4-0 record, a 1.85 goals against average (GAA), a .927 save percentage (SPCT), and three shutouts. He recorded shutouts on March 10th vs. Quad City, March 25th vs. Rockford, and March 31st vs. Flint to bring his UHL career leading total to 21. He also assisted on the game-winning goal in the 4-0 victory on March 10th. St. Pierre won all three shootouts he participated in by stopping 10 of 14 attempts in the extra session. The 30-year-old native of Sherbrooke, Quebec ranks first among UHL goaltenders with a .922 SPCT and second with a 2.25 GAA. He currently has a 31-16-2 record this season and six shutouts. It is the second monthly honor for St. Pierre as he was named the UHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
