Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets continue to lead the UHL Western Division going into the Christmas and New Year's holidays with a 15-8-0 record after 23 games.

During the past week, the Komets skated 3 games going 1-2-0 in the set. The week started with a 2-1 loss at Chicago Wednesday night. Friday the Komets returned home to clip the visiting Kalamazoo Wings 2-1. Saturday the Komets completed a home-and-home series with a 4-2 setback at Kalamazoo.

This week the Komets begin a string of 7 games in 11 nights to finish the 2006 portion of the season. Friday night the Elmira Jackals visit for an 8pm faceoff. Saturday the Komets skate at Quad City at 8pm and then take a short 2-day Christmas break before hosting the Rockford IceHogs Tuesday night, Dec. 26 at 7:30.

Special K's.....the Komets lead the UHL with a league-best 19.4% conversion rate on the power play (35/180). The Komet's penalty kill is second with 90.1% after successfully killing 25 straight power plays before surrendering a power play goal at Kalamazoo Saturday night.

Hey Komet fans.....Fort Wayne continues unchallenged in UHL home attendance records with 92,934 fans after 12 home games for a per-game average of 7,744. 7,066 is needed to break the 100,000 mark in attendance for this season. That could happen this Friday when the Komets host Elmira in home game number 13. The earliest the Komets have hit the 100,000 mark in attendance in the UHL is 14 games in 2003-04 and 2005-06. It also took 14 Komet IHL home games to hit 100,000 in attendance during the 1992-93, 1993-94, 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons.

L-W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L.......the Komets have alternated wins and losses the last 9 consecutive games since the Thanksgiving home win over Bloomington (Nov. 23). In those 9 games the Komets are 2-2-0 at home and 2-3-0 on the road.
