
Komet Nick Boucher Snags Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN. -- The Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher was named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2011.
Boucher appeared in three games for the week registering a 2-0-1 record to close 2010-11 riding a three-game unbeaten streak. Wednesday Boucher stoned the visiting Dayton Gems 1-0 stopping all 27 Dayton shots for his second shutout of the season. Friday Boucher stopped 12 of 14 Colorado shots in 28:43 of relief and helped the Komets rally from a 5-2 deficit to earn a point in a 7-6 overtime loss. Saturday Boucher grounded the Eagles 2-1 stopping 26 of 27 Colorado shots in the season finale to remain unbeaten in three home appearances for the week and assist the Komets in gaining sixth seed in the Turner Conference Opening Round Playoffs.
Boucher stopped 65 of 68 shots for the week for a 1.21 goals-against average and .956 save percentage in his three appearances of the week.
The honor is Boucher's second Goaltender of the Week award this season. The eight-year veteran was also named Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Jan. 9.
Komets begin playoffs Saturday at Bloomington -- The Komets will face the Bloomington PrairieThunder in a best-of-five opening round playoff series in the quest for the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup. Bloomington earned third seed in the Turner Conference and will have home ice advantage against the sixth-seeded Komets. Game one is slated for Saturday, April 2 at Bloomington. Game two will be Sunday, April 3 at Bloomington.
The series will shift to Fort Wayne for game three Wednesday, April 6, at 7:30pm ET. If game four is necessary it will be played in Fort Wayne Friday, April 8 at 8pm ET. If the series needs a fifth game, it will be held at Bloomington Sunday, April 10.
