
Knights Top the Rebels, 4-3

PITTSON, Penn. - The Wilkes/Barre-Scranton Knights topped the the Jamestown Rebels, 4-3, in their matchup on Friday, December 13 at Revolution Ice Centre.
The Knight's regular season record is now 13-12-2-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL).
The Knights took an early lead against the Rebels, as Anthony Mastromonica netted his first of the game at just 3:29 of the opening period.
However, the Rebels responded with two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead; the first was scored at 5:48 and the second at 7:37.
With 2:01 left in the first period, the Knights tied up the game at two goals apiece as Artur Turansky tallied his fifth goal of the season, with assists from Zak Currie and Liam Haslam.
The Knights played a dominant second period and went on to take a two-goal lead after two periods of play.
Mastromonica scored his second goal of the game at 6:27, assisted by Sutton McDonald and Cam Cervone.
To wrap up the second period, Lincoln Hatten scored with 8:47 to go in the middle frame, giving the Knights their biggest lead of the game. Tyrone Bronte and Jordan Strand were credited with assists.
The score remained 4-2 in the Knights favor until a Rebels goal with 2:27 left in the third period cut the lead to 4-3.
Ultimately, the Knights fought off the Rebels for the final minutes of regulation and took the game, 4-3.
Zach Stejskal played a full game in net in the Knights victory.
The Knights return to action tomorrow, December 14, for a 4pm matchup against the Jamestown Rebels at Revolution Ice Centre.
