Chippewa Steel Hockey Weekend Preview vs. Minnesota Magicians

CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI- The Chippewa Steel face the Minnesota Magicians this weekend for the first time in their 2019-20 season. This Midwest Division matchup is the first of six games the Steel will play against the Magicians in the next four weeks. All of the action will start Friday, December 13thon the road at Richfield Ice Arena. Fans can watch this game on HockeyTV with the puck drop set for 7:15pm.

Saturday night the team will return to Chippewa Falls to continue the series. The Steel look to carry their home ice advantage into December with a record of 7-2 at home this season. With the Steel holding the third-place spot in the division, the team looks to build momentum before facing the second place Fairbanks Ice Dogs next week. Goalie Trent Burnham is a player to watch between the pipes this weekend, as he currently boasts an impressive save percentage of .913 on the season.

As for the Magicians, they are currently in sixth place in the Midwest division and are only eight points behind the Steel. The Magicians are returning home from a four-game road trip in Alaska coming out on an 0-2 losing streak in their final games with Fairbanks. Forward Marko Reifenberger currently leads the Magicians scoring efforts with six goals as well as 11 assists.

The promotion on Saturday night is the Teddy Bear Toss presented by SportsTalk 105.1. Bring your new or gently used teddy bears and toss them on the ice when the first goal of the night is scored.
