Kansas City Knights News Release

Kansas City, MO. The ABA Kansas City Knights play host to a new rival tonight at Hale Arena in the American Royal Complex. The Arkansas Rimrockers bring a talented group to KC to face the only team they have lost to this season.

"Our fans are in for a real treat tonight. Arkansas is loaded with talent and looks like our new rival," Knights owner Jim Clark said. "We've dropped the only loss on them this season and they're looking to replace the Knights as the ABA's premiere team. I'm counting on our team and our fans to not let that happen."

The 10-1 Rimrockers lead the 6-2 Knights in the ABA's Central Division. The Rimrockers are one of the biggest surprises in the early stages of the ABA season as they are off to a better start than most insiders anticipated and are averaging over 4000 fans per game. They also feature some local heroes in former Arkansas Razorback players Todd Day, Kareem Reid and Scotty Thurman. the Knights counter with former KU Jayhawks Jeff Graves and Jeff Boshee.

"The Rimrockers are a great success story, both on and off the court," Knights Head Coach Bob Sundvold said. "They play an exciting brand of basketball. Our fans are sure to get their money's worth. As a fan, I'm excited to see these two great teams battle it out. As a head coach, it's going to be a real challenge to beat them."

The Kansas City Knights have 15 remaining home games at Hale Arena, next to Kemper Arena in the American Royal Complex this season. Tickets to Knights games start at just $5.00.
