Kansas City Knights News Release

Kansas City, MO. Jim Clark, CEO of the ABA Kansas City Knights today announced their first Free Agent Open Tryout Camp to be held Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th at the Johnson County Girls Athletic Associated Complex.

In the previous years, the Knights coaching staff has been impressed with the level of talent displayed at the free agent tryout camp. Local players like K-State's Cortez Groves, Missouri's Derek Grimm and Iowa State's Paul Shirley have all competed for a Knights' roster spot. "The Knights have had great success in signing players out of their camp," says second year Head Coach Scott Wedman, "I look forward to players competing for a spot on this year's roster."

The camp will start at 830AM as players from the metro area and around the world will have a chance to compete against each other in efforts of gaining a professional basketball contract. The Knights Free Agent Tryout Camp is the gateway to a goal set by many players from an early age. Players interested should visit the Knights website at www.knightsfan.com or call the Knights office at (913) 492-2055 for more information and pre-register. The tryout is open to the public so the Knights invite all fans to come and check out the competition. Games will be played on both days from 10am-12n and from 1pm-3pm.

The Knights 2004-2005 season begins in November and the team is looking to bring the ABA Championship back to Kansas City. Season tickets are now on sale; call the Knights office at (913) 492-2055 for ticket information.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
