
Knights Snap PawSox Win Streak

The Charlotte Knights hit three home runs en route to an 8-5 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox on Wednesday night. The PawSox scored two runs in the first, but left the bases loaded, letting starter Dylan Axelrod off the hook. The Sox would score single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh, but it wasn't enough as Dallas McPherson of the Knights belted a pair of two run homers against Brandon Duckworth. Andrew Garcia had a two run blast in the eighth inning, breaking a 5-5 tie. Tyler Kuhns' infield single knocked in the final run for Charlotte.
Nate Spears had three hits for the PawSox. Lars Anderson added a pair of RBI singles. Daniel Nava belted his second home run in as many days. Luis Exposito had two hits.
The PawSox (66-51) remain in a first place tie with Lehigh Valley. The Iron Pigs lost in Norfolk 5-4. The final game of the series against Charlotte is set for Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. Tony Pena (8-5, 3.63) faces lefty Doug Davis (1-2, 2.63).
