Bulls End Homestand on High Note

Durham Bulls News Release
Durham, NC - Matt Torra threw seven strong innings while eight of nine Bulls' starters collected hits as Durham knocked off the Rochester Red Wings, 6-1 on Thursday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The win gave the Bulls a 5-3 record on the homestand.
Torra (2-1), in arguably his finest start since joining the Bulls at mid-season, allowed only one run on five hits while striking out three and walking no one. Adam Russell and Rob Delaney each chipped in with scoreless innings to seal up the victory.
The Bulls got on the board in the first inning on John Jaso's RBI-single scoring John Matulia, who had doubled one at-bat earlier. The Bulls plated four in the second inning on Leslie Anderson's double scoring Russ Canzler followed by Ray Olmedo's double scoring Stephen Vogt and Anderson. Olmedo would later score on Matulia's groundout to make it 5-1. The Bulls would plate one last tally in the sixth inning when Russ Canzler tripled and scored on Vogt's sacrifice fly.
The Red Wings only run came on a solo home run by Dustin Martin in the seventh inning. Justin Morneau, playing his final rehab game in Durham, was 0-4 on the night.
