LONDON, ONTARIO: The London Knights finished 2nd in the Canadian Team of the Year voting in 2005. The 2004-2005 London Knights were an amazing 79-9-2-0 on their way to the franchise's first ever OHL Championship and Memorial Cup Championship in May 2005. The 2005 Canadian National Junior Team was named Canadian Team of the Year after receiving 80 first place votes and 286 voting points. The London Knights received 24 first place votes and 147 voting points. The Grey Cup Champion Edmonton Eskimos were third in voting with 5 first place votes and 80 voting points.

In May 2005 the London Knights defeated the Rimouski Oceanic 4-0 to win the 2005 Mastercard Memorial Cup. London Knights Corey Perry and Danny Syvret were also members of the Canadian National Junior Team which won the Gold Medal at the 2005 World Junior Championships in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Syvret, 20 captain of the London Knights in 2004-2005 , scored the game winning goal in the Gold Medal Game for Canada.
