Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
TORONTO, ON (December 30, 2005) - After adding Michael Haley yesterday, the Majors have injected even more intensity into their forward corps via veteran winger Andrew Shennan today. In exchange, the Majors will be providing the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds with a 6th round draft pick.
Shennan was consistently a thorn in the side of the Majors during his run with the Barrie Colts, who he played for between 2001-02 and 2004-05. The winger was traded by Barrie to the Erie Otters midway through last season, and was picked up by the Greyhounds prior to the start of the current campaign.
The 6'0", 205 lb. native of St. Clair Beach, Ontario has compiled 56 points and 477 penalty minutes during his 257 regular season games. He has also added another 4 points in 40 playoff contests. Shennan was originally the 2nd Round choice of the Colts during the 2001 OHL Priority Selection. So far this season, he has 2 points, 57 penalty minutes and a +1 rating in 15 games.
The Majors host the Brampton Battalion tonight at 7:30 pm and visit the Belleville Bulls on Sunday afternoon (January 1st) at 2:00 pm. Tonight's game will be broadcast on Rogers television in the Toronto region, channel 10 or 63, while both contests will be webcast at www.stmichaelsmajors.com.
Majors tickets can be purchased in a number of ways: through the Majors office at (416) 651-8228, by calling Ticketmaster at (416) 872-5000, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by stopping by the St. Michael's College School Arena box office within two hours of the puck drop. Majors group tickets can be purchased for as low as $7, if the party consists of 20 or more individuals.
