FORT MILL, S.C. - August 23, 2007 - The man with the hottest bat came through in the clutch and not only extended his hitting streak, but help lead Charlotte to a 7-6 victory over Norfolk.
Down 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th, designated hitter Kenny Perez's RBI single brought Casey Rogowski home from second base for the win. Perez went 2-4 with two RBI and extended his hitting streak to a season best 16 games for the Knights. Rogowski finished 3-4 with two runs and two RBI's, while Knights outfielder Thomas Collaro went 4-4 with two RBI.
The two teams traded leads six times throughout the game. Carlos Vasquez (3-3, 3.32) picked up his third win of the season. Francis Beltran (2-9, 4.88) took the loss for the Tides.
The teams conclude their four-game series on Friday. Charlie Haeger (5-14, 4.48) gets the start for Charlotte. The Tides counter with Jon Leicester (2-3, 2.44). Game time is 7:15 p.m.
