Bats To Wear Pink Jerseys August 28

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats players and coaching staff will wear special pink jerseys on Tuesday, August 28 when they take on the Toledo Mud Hens that night beginning at 7:05 p.m. In conjunction with the Bats, the jerseys were made possible by Diet Pepsi and the Kentuckiana Pepsi Bottlers. The jerseys will then be signed and auctioned off at the Bats website, www.batsbaseball.com, for one week following the game. The proceeds of the auction will benefit The Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure-along with those who generously support them with their talent, time and resources-is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in our community. They join more than 100,000 breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen Louisville Race for the Cure, they have invested $3 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Louisville Affiliate stay in this community while the remaining income goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs supporting research, awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
