
Knights Offense Leads Team To Win

FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights were able to get themselves back on the winning track with an 8-4 win over the Durham Bulls. The win is the Knights seventh in their last eight games.
Charlotte got the scoring started early with a two-run homer from Luis Rodriguez. The Knights added more later in the inning with an RBI single from Fernando Cortez. The run support helped out starter Brandon Hynick who pitched 5.0 innings allowing four runs off six hits.
The Knights lost the lead in the 4th inning when Durham's left fielder Dan Johnson hit his league leading 25th home run of the season to tie the game at 3-3. Chris Richard scored to put Durham ahead on an RBI-single off the bat of Fernando Perez.
The Knights came roaring back in the bottom of the 4th inning when Donny Lucy doubled and later scored on an RBI single from Buck Coats. Charlotte later put up three runs in the 7th thanks to a bases clearing triple from Cortez. The win puts the Knights back to 7.0 games behind Durham in the I.L. South Division.
The Knights begin a four game series tomorrow against the Louisville Bats at 7:15 PM. RHP Carlos Torres (7-5, 3.38 ERA) will pitch for the Knights, the Bats will start LHP Matt Maloney (6-5, 3.50 ERA).
