Three Columbus hurlers combined on a two-hit shutout as the Clippers topped the Tides 1-0 Sunday night at Harbor Park.

David Huff (4-0) picked up the win, as he surrendered two singles and three walks while striking out three in seven innings of work. Huff was backed by a scoreless inning from Bryce Stowell and Vinnie Pestano, with Pestano pitching a perfect ninth to record his seventh save of the season.

With the win, the Clippers won a season series vs. Norfolk for the first time since 2004, as Columbus won five of eight games between the teams this season.

Tides starter Zach Clark (0-5) turned in a strong effort but suffered the tough-luck loss. Clark allowed one run on seven hits and a walk in seven innings, and Norfolk has now scored a total of eight runs in his four starts this year.

The Clippers plated the only run of the contest in the second inning, as Wes Hodges singled to lead off the frame and moved to third on a one-out single by Cord Phelps. Lou Marson then grounded a potential inning-ending double play ball to second baseman Jonathan Tucker, but shortstop Robert Andino failed to catch Tucker's throw at second base, allowing Phelps to slide in safely and Hodges to score and give Columbus the early lead.

Columbus, who leads the league with a .288 team batting average, recorded ten hits in the contest and has now registered double digit hits in a game for the 17th time in the last 24 contests.

The Tides will welcome the Syracuse Chiefs to Harbor Park Monday night for the start of a four-game series. Chris George (4-4, 4.36) is scheduled to take the mound for Norfolk against right-hander Jeff Mandel (4-4, 4.96), with first pitch slated for 7:15.
