Calgary, AB - Dan Dawson scored at 1:16 of overtime, his second goal of the game, to lift the Rochester Knighthawks to a 9-8 win over the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The back-and-forth game included six ties and seven lead changes as the visiting Knighthawks ended a two-game losing streak and Calgary came up short in their third straight overtime contest.
The Roughnecks, now winless in their last four games, received a four-goal effort from Curtis Dickson and five-assist performance from rookie Wesley Berg.
Matt Vinc turned aside 46 of 54 shots he faced to record the win while Mike Poulin, who eclipsed 3,000 career NLL saves, had 37 stops for Calgary.
The Roughnecks (3-7) will now travel east to face the Toronto Rock (2-6) on Friday, Mar. 11 at 6:00 p.m. MT at Air Canada Centre (FOX Sports GO).
Calgary's next home game is Saturday, Mar. 19 when the Colorado Mammoth (8-2) visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for Redneck Night featuring Mountain Man and Justin Martin of A&E's Duck Dynasty (7:00 p.m., TSN GO). Prizes for the best redneck attire will be presented throughout the game.
