The Rochester Knighthawks road trip continues tonight, as they take on the Calgary Roughnecks at 9:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome. The game is the first and only meeting of the season between the two teams. The Knighthawks lead the regular season with a 6-4 record.
Broadcast Details: The game will be broadcast on 107.3 The Bull, with the pregame show starting at 6:45 p.m. Fans can listen to the contest on their mobile devices and computers by downloading the iHeartRadio app at iHeartRadio.com. The game will also be carried live on FOX Sports GO.
Back Where it all Began: Knighthawks forward Joe Resetarits returns to Calgary, where he started his NLL career in 2013. Originally a sixth overall pick by the Roughnecks, Resetarits posted 24 points (8+16) in 14 games in his rookie campaign. He currently has 15 points (6+9) and is riding a team-best six-game goal-scoring streak.
Player Moves: The Rochester Knighthawks made five player moves this week, which included activating defensemen Scott Self and Mike Manley. Self is a 16-year pro and is in the midst of his fourth season with the Knighthawks. Manley, who was born in nearby Penn Yan, will make his Knighthawks debut on Saturday. In related moves, Rochester placed forward Mark Cockerton and defenseman Adam Bomberry on the practice squad, and released forward Ty Thompson.
Pair of Knighthawks make debuts: Second-year pros Mark Cockerton and Joel Matthews made their debuts last Saturday in Toronto. Cockerton scored a goal in his first game as a Knighthawk, while Matthews picked up an assist on the goal in his 2016 Rochester debut.
Dawson hits 200: Dan Dawson reached the 200-assist plateau as a Knighthawk on Feb. 27th as part of a four-point effort (1+3) against the Rock.
It was 'Jammer time' in February: Cody Jamieson finished tied for the team lead in points in February with 16 in three games. He opened the month with a nine-point effort (4+5), which included the game-winning goal, in a come-from-behind win over Vancouver. He also notched points in the final two games of February to extend his point streak to seven games.
Rookie leading the Way: First-year pro Graeme Hossack continued to shine in his second month of the season. The Knighthawks rookie defenseman collected 21 loose balls and caused five turnovers in three games. This season, he leads the team with 44 loose balls and is second with nine caused turnovers.
Next Game: The Knighthawks will complete their season-high four-game road trip on Friday, March 11th in Buffalo against the Bandits. The contest is the first of three games between the two WNY lacrosse trivals. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the First Niagara Center.
