Knicks Edge Nets for First Regular Season Win, 120-119

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, edged the Long Island Nets 120-119, Friday evening at Total Mortgage Arena. The win comes as the first for the Knicks in the regular season and first against the Nets this year.

Westchester's (1-2) James Akinjo (affiliate) flirted with a triple-double ending with team-highs of 21 points and nine assists to go with seven rebounds. He also shot 8-13 from the field and 4-6 from three. Quinton Rose (returning rights) collected 20 points-his third game in his last four doing so, five rebounds, four steals and four three-pointers made. DaQuan Jeffries (Two-Way Player) put up his second double-double this year with 16 PTS and 10 boards. Jalen Harris (affiliate) chipped in 13 points in his third game available. Garrison Brooks (affiliate) contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds. Melvin Frazier Jr. (trade) recorded 12 points.

For Long Island (4-2), David Duke Jr. led all with 24 points on the night with 11 rebounds and four assists. Kessler Edwards and Jordan Bowden both has 21 points. Chris Chiozza had a game-high 10 assists.

The Knicks' biggest lead of the game was 14 to the Nets' eight while the game experienced nine lead changes and seven tied scores. The Knicks (50.0%) also shot better than the Nets (49.5%) from the field and bested Long Island 47.1-percent to its 40-percent from three-point territory. The Knicks' 47.1-percent three-point clip was their highest since late November.

Sunday, January 8, the Knicks take on the Nets at 1 PM at Total Mortgage Arena.
