
Herd Sweeps College Park Skyhawks at Home

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, beat the College Park Skyhawks 120-116. The Herd started the first quarter off hot, shooting 62.5% from the field and setting a franchise record for points scored in a quarter with 49. The Herd didn't let up and continued to push ahead in the second quarter outscoring the Skyhawks 32-22 to go up by 13 points. The Skyhawks battled back to take the lead in the third quarter 94-93. The two teams stayed within six points of each other and went into the last three minutes of the game with a Skyhawks lead. Brandon Randolph scored eight points in the last three minutes to push the Herd to a win.
The Herd was guided by Sandro Mamukelashvili with a near triple-double of 29 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. Lindell Wigginton followed with 25 points while Jordan Bone with 23 points. Jontay Porter posted 17 rebounds.
The Skyhawks were led by Brandon Williams with 34 points and followed by Cat Barber with 20 points.
Elijah Hughes jump started the Herd with six consecutive points to start the game. The Herd continued the momentum building a lead of 15 with the help of three consecutive three-point shots by Sandro Mamukelashvili. The Herd continued the grow their headstart going up 25-8 at the seven-minute mark. The dynamic duo of Lindell Wigginton and Sandro Mamukelashili combined for 13 points to increase the Herd lead to 20 points. The Herd progressed forward to 45-20 lead at the two-minute mark. The Herd was on top 49-24 at the end of the first quarter, setting a new franchise record for points scored in a quarter.
The Skyhawks opened the second quarter scoring seven unanswered points to cut the Herd's lead down to 16 points. The Herd rebounded with consecutive baskets to put them up by 21 points. The Skyhawks answered with an 11-0 run to come within nine points. Jontay Porter and Rob Edwards teamed up for five points to end College Park's run. Jordan Bone hit two free throws to close out the half. The Herd was ahead 71-58 at the end of the first half. Sandro Mamukelashvili led the Herd with 18 points followed by Lindell Wigginton with 16 points in the first half.
College Park hit the first basket of the third quarter, but Jordan Bone and Sandro Mamukelashvili push the Herd ahead by 16 points. The Skyhawks were quick to counter scoring six points unanswered points. The two teams traded baskets until the Skyhawks took control, catching up within one. Jordan Bone completed a three-point play to quiet their run. College Park stole the lead at the end of the third quarter going ahead 94-93.
The Skyhawks built their lead to five points to start the fourth quarter. The Herd fought back to be within one point at the seven-minute mark. The Skyhawks went ahead by four points but Brandon Randolph hit back-to-back shots to put the Herd ahead 110-109. Sandro Mamukelashvili and Brandon Randolph combined for five points to propel the Herd up by four. The Skyhawks answered with four points, but Jordan Bone secured two free throws to win the game for the Herd.
The Herd returns home on Wednesday, January 11th to take on the Memphis Hustle with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. CST.
