Klimchuk's Two-Goal Night Helps Heat Double up Gulls 4-2

Stockton, Calif. - Morgan Klimchuk's third period marker late in the game not only gave him his second of the night, but it gave the Heat the win as they took down the San Diego Gulls 4-2 at Stockton Arena on Sunday night. Ryan Faragher, who got the start for the Heat against his former organization, stopped 24 shots en route to his first AHL win since he was a member of the San Diego Gulls in 2016. Stockton got on the board early thanks to Colby Robak's third goal of the season and then surprised the league's top power-play unit with a shorthanded goal in San Diego's first power play of the night courtesy of Spencer Foo. Alex Dostie would get one back just past the midway mark of the first period but the Heat would answer in the second period courtesy of Klimchuk and carry a 3-1 lead into the third period. The Gulls would respond with a shorthanded goal of their own to put the pressure on Stockton but Klimchuk's second of the night would seal the win and make sure the Heat end a difficult week, 2-1-0. The Heat host the Bakersfield Condors for Star Wars Night at Stockton Arena this Saturday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m. Your favorite Star Wars characters will be in attendance and fans can purchase a two-pack of tickets along with a glow-in-the-dark lightsaber for just $35!
