Kisio Appointed by Hockey Canada

LETHBRIDGE, AB - Hockey Canada announced Wednesday that Lethbridge Hurricanes Head Coach Brent Kisio has been named the Head Coach of Team Canada White at the upcoming 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The tournament will take place in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario from October 30th until November 5th .

Kisio just completed his first season as the head coach of the Hurricanes leading them to a Central Division title and back to the post-season after a six year absence. The 33-year-old was named the Eastern Conference nominee for the Western Hockey League's Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the Coach of the Year where he was the runner up to Victoria Royals' bench boss, Dave Lowry.

It is the first time that Kisio will serve a head coach for Hockey Canada. In 2013, he served as an assistant coach for Team Pacific at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He will be served by Swift Current Broncos' assistant coach Jamie Heward and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada's Daniel Jacob as his assistant's during the week-long tournament.
