Defenseman Jake Christiansen to Represent Canada at 2016 Inline Hockey World Championships

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) defenseman Jake Christiansen is scheduled to represent Canada Inline at the 2016 Inline Hockey World Championships in Asiago and Roana, Italy featuring 18 teams in the Junior Men category and 30 countries, overall in the competition.

Christiansen, who will suit up for Canada's Junior Boys roster, will compete from Jun. 11-17 starting in Pool A alongside Czech Republic, Colombia, Namibia, and Slovenia.

The 1999-born defenseman made his Silvertips debut last season and earned eight points (4g-4a) in 48 games along with a +1 rating. He was third among Tips defensemen with four goals, suited up in 17 of the first 19 games of the regular season, and skated in all nine playoff games with the club, earning two penalty minutes.

The native of West Vancouver, B.C. was originally selected by the Silvertips in fifth round (105th overall) in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The 6-foot, 185-pound defenseman suited up for his midget year with the Hollyburn Huskies (PCAHA), racking up 51 points (16g-35a) in 49 games in 2014-15 while adding four games with the Vancouver Northwest Giants (BCMML).

The Silvertips will announce their 2016-17 schedule soon, offering full season tickets, 22-game, and 14-game plans for as little as $200 total per seat. Deposits for $50 secure a seat by visiting the Silvertips deposit portal.
