JUPITER, Fla. - Alex Kirilloff had three doubles, but the Miracle blew three late leads in a 12-11, 11-inning loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads on Monday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
Down 11-10 with one out and runners on the corners in the 11th inning, Jupiter's James Nelson lined a walk-off two-run double down the left field line.
The Miracle had a 7-6 lead heading to the bottom of the ninth inning. Clark Beeker retired the first two batters of the frame, but Riley Mahan extended the contest with a double and barely slid into home safely on Nelson's RBI single to tie it.
In the 10th, the Miracle scored three runs to take a 10-7 lead. Taylor Grzelakowski delivered a sacrifice fly and Caleb Hamilton came through with an RBI single. Another run scored on an error, one of five committed in the game by Jupiter. The Miracle had three miscues in the contest.
After Jupiter scored a run to make it 10-8, they again were down to their finale out with runners on second and third. This time, Luis Pintor lined an RBI single into right center field and the game was tied again.
Down 1-0 after one, the Miracle scored four times in the second inning. Royce Lewis brought home the first three runs with a bases-clearing double. Fort Myers added another run in the third, but Jupiter put up five in the bottom of the third to take a 6-5 lead.
Kirilloff extended his hitting streak to seven games, walked, and scored three runs to raise his batting average to .353 with the Miracle. Grzelakowski had his second triple of the season. Brandon Lopez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Bryan Sammons started for the Miracle and lasted just three innings in his High-A debut. The left-hander allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Jovani Moran (2-1) suffered the loss in relief. Colton Davis threw a pair of perfect innings with two strikeouts.
The Miracle scored five runs (four earned) off Jupiter starter Sandy Alcantara, who was pitching on a MLB rehab assignment.
