Kinston Indians News Release
Tribe Talk....
Great Start to The Second Half - The K-Tribe is off to their best second half start in more than eight years, going to 3-0 after sweeping Salem this weekend. It is the best start of any half, since Kinston went 3-0 to begin the season in 2005. The K-Tribe started the 2004 season with a 10 game win streak. Kinston started the second half last season 0-3 after getting swept at Salem.
Let's Go Streaking - Kinston is on a five game win streak, tying their longest of the season (5/22- 5/26). Kinston won nine straight from 8/25-9/02 last season.
Must Be The Breakfast Buffet - Infielder Tyler Cannon has rebounded from a 1 for 23 home stand to hit 11-for-23 through seven road games against Lynchburg and Salem. On the last road trip Cannon batted .409 (9/22) with two home runs, two doubles, five runs and four rbi's. Cannon's .355 road average through 18 games trumps his .118 home mark, accomplished over the same number of games.
Pitching Honors - Starting pitcher T.J. House was named the League's Pitcher of the Week for June 13-19. House did not allow an earned run over two starts while tossing one complete game shutout.
XM Future's Game - Drew Pomeranz has been named to the XM Future's game roster. The annual talent showcase features the top prospects from around minor league baseball as part of MLB's All Star Weekend. The 2011 contest will be on July 10th at Arizona's Chase Field
