Kings win with minimal hitting
July 6, 2008 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release
In a strange game unique to baseball, Chillicothe scored 5 runs on only 3 hits. Yet, behind the power of Mike Russell and Simon Williams, the Kings prevailed 7-5 Saturday night.
Russell hit two HRs (11,12), including the go-ahead shot in the bottom of the eighth and Simon added a second HR in the inning, his tenth, to provide a cushion. New addition Michael Mongiardini shined in his Kings debut, throwing 5 hitless innings in relief of starter Dave Pellegrine. All Star Brandon Parillo closed out the game for his fourteenth save.
