Kings Sign Cracknell and Van der Gulik

LOS ANGELES, CA - The 2014 Stanley Cup Champions Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have signed unrestricted free agent right wing Adam Cracknell and unrestricted left wing David Van der Gulik to one-year contracts, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 28-year-old Cracknell (born on July 15, 1985) is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan who has appeared in 65 career NHL regular season games - all with the St. Louis Blues - over the past four seasons, totaling 16 points (6-1016), 12 penalty minutes and a plus-5 rating. He also appeared in five postseason games with the Blues over each of the last two seasons, totaling one goal and two penalty minutes in those 10 postseason contests. Cracknell was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the ninth round (279th overall) at the 2004 NHL Draft.

The 31-year-old Van der Gulik (born on April 20, 1983) is a 5-foot-10, 173-pound native of Abbotsford, British Columbia who has appeared in 48 career NHL regular season games with the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary over five seasons (Flames in 2008-09; Avalanche from 2010-14), totaling 13 points (2-1113), 10 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating. Van der Gulik was originally selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round (206th overall) at the 2002 NHL Draft.
