HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that the organization has signed defensemen Jon Landry and Mike Moore to one-year contracts for the 2014-2015 season. The announcement was made by Bears President/GM Doug Yingst.

Landry, 31, comes to Hershey after playing the 2013-2014 season with the AHL's Iowa Wild. He recorded 18 assists, 32 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating in 50 games.

The 6-3, 220-pound native of Montreal, Quebec spent the previous two seasons with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, posting 53 points (10 goals, 43 assists), 84 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus-six rating in 106 regular-season games. Landry has a total of 71 points (10 goals, 61 assists) in 158 career AHL games with Portland, Bridgeport and Iowa.

Prior to his time in the AHL, Landry played the majority of his career with the CHL's Arizona Sundogs. In 203 career games, Landry recorded 129 points (36 goals, 93 assists) from 2006-2010. He departed for Europe midway through the 2009-2010 season, playing in nine games for the DEL's Cologne Sharks. He went on to finish second in scoring with the EIHL's Braehead Clan in 2010-11, with 58 points (18 goals, 40 assists) in 54 games.

Moore, 29, comes to Chocolatetown after having served as captain of the Providence Bruins during the 2013-2014 campaign. Playing in all but one regular-season game, Moore tallied 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) and 106 penalty minutes. His seven goals were a new single-season career high and ranked second among Bruins defensemen, while his plus-13 efficiency rating tied for third on the squad.

The 6-1, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta played 50 games for the Milwaukee Admirals in 2012-2013, recording 16 points (five goals, 11 assists). Moore spent his previous five years in the San Jose Sharks organization, totaling 72 points (14 goals, 58 assists) over 253 regular-season games in AHL Worcester. He was named captain of the Sharks later in the 2010-2011 season.

In just six full professional seasons, Moore is a three-time winner of his team's IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year Award for his efforts in the community (Providence, 2014; Worcester, 2009 and 2010).

Moore earned six games of NHL work with San Jose in 2010-2011, making his NHL debut on October 19, 2010 vs. Carolina.

Prior to turning pro, Moore played four years of college hockey and Princeton University (ECAC), where he registered 52 points (14 goals, 38 assists) in 121 career games. He led the Tigers to the ECAC championship while serving as captain in his senior year of 2007-2008, and was simultaneously named a First Team All-American, First Team All-Ivy League, First Team All-ECAC and the ECAC's best defensive defenseman.
