Kings Recall Schultz from Monarchs

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Jeff Schultz from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Schultz played in 67 regular season games with the Monarchs this season, recording 13 points (2-1113), 32 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating. Schultz has also appeared in two playoff games with Manchester, recording zero points, two penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound native of Calgary, Alberta has played in 399 career NHL regular season games (all with Washington), recording 75 points (11-6475) and 133 penalty minutes. In 29 career NHL postseason games, he has one assist and 14 penalty minutes.

The Monarchs will battle the Norfolk Admirals at 7:15 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Game 3 of the 2014 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 30.
