Kings Assign Jordan Weal to Monarchs

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned forward Jordan Weal to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 5-10, 179-pound native of North Vancouver, British Columbia has appeared in 70 games with Manchester (AHL) this season, tallying 65 points (19-4665), a plus-7 rating and 52 penalty minutes. He was recalled by the Kings yesterday and did not play in the Kings-Sharks game (he has not played in the NHL). At the time of his recall, he ranked third in the AHL in points, tied for third in assists and tied for seventh in game-winning goals (six).

Selected in the third-round (70th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Kings, Weal has appeared in 218 career AHL games in five seasons with Manchester, collecting 169 points (57-112169), a plus-43 rating and 132 penalty minutes. The Monarchs are closing out the weekend today against the Sound Tigers. They will return to the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night when they host Portland.
