
Kings Announce Player Transactions

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forwards Dwight King and Jordan Nolan from Manchester, assigned defenseman Slava Voynov to the Monarchs and placed forward Jarret Stoll on the injured reserve list with a lower body injury, President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
King, 22, has 29 points (11-1829), 20 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 50 games with Manchester this season. His 29 points are tied for second on the team, while his 18 assists are second on the club. The 6-foot-3, 234-pound native of Meadowlake, Saskatchewan, has spent the last two-plus seasons with the Monarchs since turning pro in 2009-10. He's played in six NHL games (all with the Kings last season), recording zero points and two penalty minutes. King was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (109th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear No. 74 with the Kings.
Nolan, 22, has 22 points (9-1322), 119 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 40 games with Manchester this season. His 119 penalty minutes are second on the team (tied for 11th in the AHL). Nolan also has a club-leading two shorthanded goals this season. The 6-foot-3, 227-pound native of St. Catharines, Ontario spent last season with Manchester before turning pro late in the 2009-10 season with Ontario Reign (ECHL). Nolan, who was originally selected by the Kings in the seventh round (186th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, has never played an NHL game. He is the son of former NHL head coach Ted Nolan and will wear No. 71 with the Kings.
Voynov, 22, has 11 points (4-711), eight penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating in 26 games with the Kings (his first season in the NHL). Among NHL rookie defensemen, Voynov is tied for seventh in points, tied for first in goals and tied for eighth in assists. The 5-foot-11, 199-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia has also played eight games with Manchester this season, recording three points (2-13), two penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating. Voynov was originally selected by the Kings in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Stoll, 29, has 15 points (5-1015) and 44 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Kings this season. The 6-foot-1, 213-pound native of Melville, Saskatchewan suffered a lower body injury in the Kings-Florida game last night. Stoll has played in 177 consecutive games (Jan. 4, 2010 to Feb. 9, 2012).
