Bulldogs fall to Devils

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs mounted a two-goal comeback in the second period but the Albany Devils added an empty-net goal late in game for a 4-2 win.

The Devils took a 1-0 lead at 11:37 into the first period, when Steve Zalewski's power play shot deflected in front of the net, trickling past Bulldogs netminder Nathan Lawson. Albany doubled its lead less than two minutes later when Zalewski's pass from behind the net led to a 4-on-4 goal by Chad Wiseman.

At 3:12 in the second period, Nathan Perkovich made it 3-0 for Albany on a 5-on-3 opportunity. The ‘Dogs would get on the scoreboard at 6:00 when Joe Callahan's point shot was deflected over the shoulder of Devils netminder Keith Kinkaid by Andreas Engqvist. Just 2:01 later, Philippe Lefebvre scored his fourth goal of the season on a pass by Alain Berger to cut Albany's lead to 3-2.

The Devils would add an empty net goal with less than a minute left in the game, cementing their 4-2 victory. Hamilton led Albany 28-20 in shots.

The Bulldogs travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies TOMORROW, Saturday, February 11th, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
