HAMILTON, Ont. -- With family and friends in the stands, Chad Wiseman didn't disappoint, leading the Albany Devils to a 4-2 win against the Hamilton Bulldogs Friday at Copps Coliseum. Wiseman, who was born in Burlington, Ont., registered a goal and an assist and was named the game's number one star.

Wiseman was one of six Devils who were born within an hour and a half of Hamilton. The other five include head coach Rick Kowalsky (Simcoe, Ont.) and players Mike Banwell (Scarborough, Ont.), Brandon Burlon (Nobleton, Ont.), Matthew Corrente (Mississauga, Ont.) and Kory Nagy (London, Ont.)

The win improves the Devils to 20-18-5-3, while the Bulldogs go to 20-22-1-4.

Wiseman was joined in the goal column by Steve Zalewski, Nathan Perkovich and Nick Palmieri. Zalewski also added two assists, while Peter Harrold registered two helpers.

In goal, Keith Kinkaid earned his 12th victory by making 26 saves, including seven in the first, 14 in the second and five in the third. He is now 3-1-0 in his last four starts.

Offensively, Zalewski began a three-goal run for the Devils to start. He redirected Harrold's shot while on the power play at 11:37 of the first period. Alexander Urbom registered the second assist. For Zalewski is was his 10th goal and first since Dec. 30. Between then and now he had missed seven games while on recall by New Jersey.

Less than two minutes later, Wiseman was setup by Zalewski while playing four-on-four. Zalewski sent a centering pass from behind the net to a cutting Wiseman at 13:14. The goal, which included a second assist by Harrold, was Wiseman's fifth on the season and third in the last eight contests.

Carrying the momentum into the second period, Perkovich netted the team's second power-play goal with a shot from the slot at 3:12. Zalewski and Harrold had the assists, moving Perkovich's goal total to seven on the season.

The Bulldogs jump started their comeback with the game's second four-on-four tally. Andreas Engqvist tipped a shot by Joe Callahan past Kinkaid at 6:00.

Two minutes and one second later, Philippe Lefebvre pulled Hamilton within one with a wrist shot at 8:01.

The game's most dramatic moment came with less than two minutes remaining and after the Devils killed off the first half of a 5-on-3 penalty kill. The Bulldogs wrapped the puck around the halfway and as Kinkaid tried to trap the puck on the boards it was redirected to the front of the net. A Hamilton attempt into the gaping net was thwarted by a diving Kinkaid and the rebound was blocked by the Devils defense.

The defensive effort opened the door for Palmieri to slide home an empty net goal at 19:15 with an assist to Tim Sestito.

The Devils three-game road weekend continues Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Syracuse. The game can be followed on 104.5 "The Team" ESPN Radio or online at ahllive.com.
