Columbus Blue Jackets Place Defensemen Brett Lebda, Marc Methot on Injured Reserve; Recall Defensema

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defensemen Brett Lebda and Marc Methot on injured reserve and added defenseman Dalton Prout to the roster on emergency recall from the Springfield Falcons, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. The club also added goaltender Allen York to the roster on emergency recall from the Chicago Express, the club's ECHL affiliate, as Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis Sanford is day-to-day with an upper body injury.

Prout, 21, was the Blue Jackets' seventh pick, 154th overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft. Playing his first professional season, he has recorded three goals and four assists for seven points with 41 penalty minutes in 41 games with Springfield this season.

Prior to his professional career, the LaSalle, Ontario native played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. He collected 17-49-66 and 436 penalty minutes with a cumulative plus/minus rating of +16 in 286 career games with Sarnia, Barrie and Saginaw. He added 3-9-12 and 73 penalty minutes in 46 career playoff games.

York, 22, has appeared in four games with the Blue Jackets this season, going 0-1-0 with a 3.53 goals-against average and .878 save percentage. He made his NHL debut against Detroit on October 25 and made his first NHL start at Chicago on October 29. He has gone 1-1-0 with a 3.84 goals-against average and .871 save percentage in five games with Springfield, as well as posting a 4-3-1 mark with a 3.62 GAA and .888 SV% in nine games with the Express.

The Blue Jackets' sixth pick, 158th overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft, York signed his entry level contract on March 29, 2011 after he completed his junior season at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.). He went 37-33-8, with a 2.47 GAA, .915 SV% and four shutouts in 83 career games. He ranks first all-time among R.P.I. goaltenders in GAA and is fourth in SV%. The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native was named Second Team All-ECAC and was a finalist for Ken Dryden Award, given to the ECAC Goaltender of the Year, in 2009-10 and was named Third Team All-ECAC in 2010-11.

The Blue Jackets return to action Saturday when they visit the Minnesota Wild. Game time from Xcel Energy Center is set for 8 p.m. ET.
