Kingfish Sweep Bombers with Walk-Off Win

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish (12-15) put a 3 spot on the board in the 9th to notch a walk-off win at home over Battle Creek. With the bases load, Nick Kanavas hit a slow roller to the second baseman Cody Sporrer. The grounder was bobbled, and the game ended when Rob Henry scored on the play.

The Kingfish trailed the entire game, but picked up an RBI single from Pat McInerney in the 9th, promptly followed by an RBI single by Pete Schuler. After those two runs scored, the game was tied, and Nick Kanavas did the rest.

Andrew Reisinger was the Kingfish starting pitcher, and he allowed 4 runs in 5.2 innings of work. He gave up 10 hits, and punched out 2. Rigo Beltran relieved him for the final 3.1 innings and allowed one mere run off of 2 hits. Beltran (2-3) was awarded the win for his efforts

The Kingfish offense totaled 12 base hits today. Mason Fishback went 3 for 4 at the dish while both Pat McInerney and Marty Bechina went 2 for 5. Dylan Rosa belted his first home run as a Kingfish and had a 2 for 4 afternoon.

The Kingfish host Kalamazoo tomorrow night at 7:05 CT and again on Tuesday, also at 7:05 CT. After that, the Kingfish will have their first day off on Wednesday.
