Kenosha, WI. - It may have come down to the final strike, but the Kingfish finally took care of business against the Battle Creek Bombers. Having lost their first three games against the Bombers on the year, the Kingfish claimed victory in their final at-bat Thursday night, 8-4.

Going into the ninth the Kingfish trailed 4-3 after a Dan Swain home run put the Bombers up. In the top of the ninth, Jake Whiting reached via a walk and Nolan Lodden doubled to put runners on second and third. Bomber Pitcher Alex Vargas took care of Mitch Gasbarro and Jack Sundberg, then intentionally walked Nick Sergakis who hit his third home run in two days earlier in the game.

Alex Borglin came to the plate and slapped a bases loaded, 2 out, 2 RBI single to left to put the Kingfish ahead. Hunter Alexander added another with a single, Zack Weigel tripled home another run, then a wild pitch scored Weigel from third putting the Kingfish ahead 8-4. Brett Shimanovsky finished the job, retiring the side in short order to notch the Kingfish the win. Weigel finished hitting 3-4 with a pair of RBI, and Alex Borglin added a pair of hits and RBI of his own to help power the Kingfish offense to a ten hit, eight run performance.
