Kingfish fall to Ice Pilots, 4-3

The Baton Rouge Kingfish fell by one to the Pensacola Ice Pilots with a final score of 4-3.
Pensacola opened the scoring at the 12:19 mark in the first period with Greg Pankewicz giving the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead. Josh Harrold and Kevin Cloutier added to the assists.
Only 2:28 into the second period, the Ice Pilots picked up a second goal by Chris Minard with assists by Chad Theuer and Rich Spiller.
Kevin Clouthier of Pensacola slipped the puck past Jeff Blair just seven minutes later, giving the âPilots a 3-0 lead.
While on a power play, the Kingfish cut into the Ice Pilot lead as Bryan Richardson fired a shot past Brian Eklund â finally putting the Kingfish on the board, 3-1. Clark Jones and Trevor Demmans picked up the assists.
The Kingfish continued to fight back. Just two minutes into the third period, Trevor Demmans picked up his second assist for the night by passing the puck to Mike Keisman and producing the second power play goal for the âFish. Glen Crawford also added an assist on the goal.
The Kingfish were not finished, though. After Louis Dumont gave the âPilots a 4-2 lead, Jason Norrie cut the lead to 1 as he fired a shot into the Pensacola net. Marquis Mathieu and Sean Peach added to the assist at the 6:44 mark.
Jeff Blair made 15 saves in net as the Kingfish record falls 7-14-3 on the season.
The Kingfish are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. as they battle the Cottonmouths in Columbus. The Kingfish pregame show gets underway at 2:45 p.m.
