Kingfish Defeat Woodchucks 5-1

Wausau, Wis. - The Kingfish (24-45) got back into the win column with a 5-1 win over the Wisconsin Woodchucks tonight in Wausau.

The Kingfish got out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to a quick outburst in the second inning. A Sawyer Gieseke solo home run and a Cal Jadacki RBI double extended the Kingfish lead down the stretch.

Christian Bokich had an exceptional start en route to his second win on the year. He threw 7.0 innings and allowed five hits and one run. Chase Thurston pitched the final two innings and did not let in a single run.

Sawyer Gieseke went 2 for 4 with a home run and an RBI to pace the Kingfish offense. Cal Jadacki followed suit with a double and an RBI in a 2 for 4 game. Seven of nine Kingfish hitters got into the hit column, and the lineup totaled twelve hits on the night.

The Kingfish will face off against the Woodchucks tomorrow at 7:05 CT. The season will end at home on Sunday when the Kingfish return to Simmons Field to host the Woodchucks at 4:05 CT.
