Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
The Lethbridge Hurricanes will try to build on Wednesday's win when they host the Kelowna Rockets on Friday night. It's the Rockets first and only visit to Lethbridge. Former Hurricanes DJ King and Patrik Valcak are both expected in the lineup for the Rockets.
Friday is the second of three meetings this season between the Canes and Rockets. The Hurricanes have a 1-0-0-0 record against the Rockets. The last game between the Canes and Rockets was played on October 15th in Kelowna. The Canes won 2-1. Tyrel Lucas and the since departed Braden Appleby had the Hurricane goals. The Hurricanes have an all-time record of 11-13-0-0 against the Rockets. The next meeting between the Rockets and Hurricanes is February 14th in Kelowna.

On Sunday the Swift Current Broncos and Sports Net crew roll into town. The Canes host the Broncos in what is sure to be an exciting contest.
Sunday is the seventh and final meetings this season between the Canes and Broncos. The Hurricanes have a 2-2-2-0 record against the Broncos. The last game between the Canes and Broncos was played on January 31st in Lethbridge. The Broncos edged the Canes 2-1. Michal Gulasi's first of the season was the Hurricanes only goal. The Hurricanes have an all-time record of 45-65-7-1 against the Broncos.
Ahhhh It Feels Good
The Canes finally won in overtime on Wednesday night when they beat the Red Deer Rebels 1-0. It was the Canes first overtime win of the season. Brennan Chapman snapped the scoreless game just 56 seconds into the extra frame. It was also Lindsay Hofford's first win as head coach of the Hurricanes.

Bring your Banner Night
Sunday is Bring your Banner Night. Fans with banners appearing on Sports Net's national broadcast will receive a Hurricanes Prize package. There will also be a Sven Ericksen's Twonie Toss. The fan that throws their twonie closest to the centre dot will win a great prize from Sven Ericksens. Game time is a special 4:00 pm start to accommodate the National broadcast.
Esquires Player of the Week
Michal Gulasi was named the Esquire's Coffee House Hurricanes Player of the Week on Tuesday. Gulasi scored his first ever WHL goal on Saturday against the Swift Current Broncos. The 17 year-old from Ostrava in the Czech Republic has 1 goal and six assists in 45 games this season
In honour of his award Gulasi will have an Esquires beverage named after him for the week. "The Michal Gulasi Cinnamon Heart Latte" is available at the West Esquires Coffee House location.
The Esquires Player of the Week is selected by fan voting. Fans can vote for their selection by visiting the West Lethbridge Esquires Coffee House location.
We Care Saves for Little Hearts
Last week Logan Koopmans raised 39 dollars for the We Care Home Health Services ...Saves for Little Hearts program. This season every time A Hurricanes goalie makes a save at home, We Care Home Health Services will donate a dollar to the Lethbridge Neo-Natal Intensive Care unit. The money donated will go towards the purchase of a heart and lung monitor for new-borns. Koopmans made 39 saves during the Hurricanes two home games last week. The total raised thus far is $640
Koopmans Sets Canes' Career Shutout Record
With the Hurricanes 1-0 shutout victory over the visiting Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday, Logan Koopmans broke the Lethbridge Hurricanes Career Shutout record.
Koopmans sixth career shutout pushed him ahead of Brady Block for the Canes all-time lead. Koopmans' six shutouts have come during his three-year tenure with the Hurricanes.
A 19-year-old product of Cranbrook, BC, Koopmans has a career record of 49-53-8 with the Canes. The Detroit Red Wings fifth round pick currently holds the Hurricanes career Goals Against Average lead at 2.84.
